Part 3 of Paper Dolls.
“The current work is a statement about against the unattainable standards of beauty; even when we go into a clothing department where we should feel comfortable in our own bodies and find things to hug us in all the right places - they face us with these mannequins in which nobody can match their proportions, showing consumers that ‘this’ is how the clothes should look on you’. So for this project, I made mannequins with ridiculous proportions modeling my very own dresses - and incorporating the paper-doll aspect just to point out how young that these standards of beauty start pin-pointing young girls.”
